I love the South Gate Motel... the parking was a little tight and the walls are paper thin.. they have xtra clean sheets and a solid bed that does not squeek and are avaiable hourly... so pack lightly, its not a fashion show.

South Gate , I used to live there from 1981 to 1983, it was a good place to live , I am happy to hear it is still a good place to live and visit . Meanwhile the rest of the greater areas around L. A. Are a war zone , South Gate is where I spent 6th through 8th grade and had a blast , spent many a nights this 3 years toilet papering houses on different blocks in what we called the Great toilet paper wars . All good clean fun and no one was getting shot , stabbed or seriously hurt in fights at school , just good ol fashioned growing up . I spent all my allowance and monies I made mowing lawns and cleaning pools at Tweety Ave record store and the Mexican market down the street from my home in Missouri Ave and long beach Blvd .
I've posted on SG MOMO before hourly rates. Good prices. Staff are discreet and polite. Very well manner. But one complaint sheets and bath are always clean but the room can use a lil dusting. Yes there's always t.p just in case you need to take a nasty deuce... Lol
This spot has been my GO TO when I just need to get away from things and chill. Staff has always been courteous and nice. I have never had any issues with the rooms. Also the location is very quiet. Everyone has their own opinion but mine is that the SGM is a hidden gem get away spot.
i love coming here, i havent been here for a while. Not too far from downey, friendly customer service which i like, i also enjoy their ice vending machine for when a cold drink is needed on those hot days

First time visitor here. Busy Friday night. I had checked everywhere close to home and this wasn't booked. Friendly and courteous attendant at the front desk. Since it was past midnight it was indeed busy here. But the wait was max 7 minutes. Felt like an RV campgrounds wait where they get your information and ring you for a spot. Came to chill with the homegirl. Left relaxed, and a bit stoned. Well worth coming out here. Rooms are spacious, bathrooms are big. TV has all sorts of local channels. Beds for 2. Wooden floors, be careful with bringing children as the TV programming has explicit content.
